To almost everyone, the Samhain reference in the band name should serve to give you a hint of where these guys are coming from. To elaborate, let me throw out some more names for you - Only Living Witness, Undertow, with bits of old Metallica and contemporaries Iron Age. In short, what Mother Of Mercy brings to the table is punishing mid-tempo hardcore thatÍs not short on monstrous riffs, demonic yowls, and parts designed to motivate every different variety of coreman to hurt the person standing next to them. After just a year and a half of existence theyÍve released two well-received EPs on Collapse records, and in addition to their hometown dominance theyÍve made it out to California for Sound and Fury ï08 and just wrapped up a winter tour with the Mongoloids. Now with the release of their debut LP, Mother Of Mercy takes the time to flesh out their sound, as well as kick it up to the next level.
