Brooding rock melts into dreamy atmospherics on “Jokes,” the first EP from Chicago area 5-piece, bosses. Originally led by Harlee Young, the full band lineup now includes members of Dead Sun, Highdiver, and Griefeater to flesh out their immense sound. Pulling inspiration from shoegaze and grunge, the hypnotic bosses approach can best be described as heavy, ethereal, and highly emotional.
